Walk in Humility
Main Text: James 4:6 (KJV)
“But he giveth more grace wherefore He saith, “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble”.
Matthew 23:12 – For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be blessed.
Jesus our Lord, Master, and Saviour is humility personified. He was humble even unto the cross. He thought it not robbery to be equal with God, and today at the mention of His Name, every knee on earth, beneath the earth and in heaven, bows (Philippians 2:8-11)
Humility brings about promotion, exaltation, and favour, before God, and men. Humility helps us to acknowledge our helplessness, and accept God’s grace to help us in our daily Christian walk with Christ. When we know that without God, we can do nothing.
It humbles us and makes us depend totally on God, and this gives God joy when we totally depend on Him and not on our own strength, and wisdom. Humility brings us down on our knees to ask God for forgiveness, and mercy whenever we sin against him. This helped King David in the Bible, and earned him “A man after God’s own heart”. Desire, covet the spirit of humility for effective walk with the Lord”.
DESIRE THE SPIRIT OF HUMILITY
Prayer: Oh! God, humble me today take away the spirit of pride in me in Jesus Name.
