STARVE YOUR SELF

Starve Your self

Main Text: Romans 8:12-13 (KJV)

“Therefore, Brethren we are debtors not to the flesh to live after the flesh”. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die, but if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, we shall live”.

Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

For us to live godly lives in Christ Jesus, we must of a necessity, starve the flesh. We must crucify the desires of the flesh thereby starving it. The spirit and the flesh are always at war with each other, the one we give greater attention to, wins the battle.

The flesh does not want to pray or fast, or study the word of God, but the spirit want to, for us to please God, we must starve the flesh. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, help to feed the flesh thereby fight the spirit.

We must say no to all the desires of the flesh as mentioned in Galatians 5:19-20. For us to inherit the kingdom of God, the Spirit must be fully fed, while the flesh must be starved.

HAVE YOU FED YOUR SPIRIT WITH THE WORD TODAY?Prayer: Oh! God, deliver me from every carnal desire in Jesus Name
