ENJOY ABUNDANT LIFE
MAIN TEXT – :John 10:10b – I am come that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly
Ephesians 3:20 – God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think is at work with us
The word “abundant” in the Greek is Perisson meaning “exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure, more superfluous, a quantity so abundant as to be considerately more than what one would expect or anticipate.
When we talk about abundant Life, it simply refers to life in it’s abounding fullness of joy and strength for mind, body and soul. In our main text, Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life and that may have it more abundantly; unlike a thief, the Lord Jesus does not come for selfish reasons. He comes to give, not to get. He comes that people may have life in Him that is meaningful, purposeful, joyful and eternal. We receive this abundant Life the moment we accept Him as our saviour. Jesus promises us a life far better than we could ever imagine.
The source of abundant Life is identified as the ‘spirit of God’ in Gal 5:22-23, where the fruits of the spirit are listed; Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. You can posses this abundant Life in you as a true Christian as described in Matt 6:33; but seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. When you fulfill this, then you will experience and enjoy abundant Life.
You enjoy this abundant Life also, when you learn to live the past behind you. 2cor 15:17; we are new creations, the old has gone and the new has come. We serve the *the great I am* not *the great I was*.
WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR ALL TO GOD, YOU WILL SURELY ENJOY THE ABUNDANT LIFE FROM HIM.
Prayer: Father, I yield myself to you that I shall be a Parker of your abundant Life and enjoy it to the fullness.
