WHAT DO YOU HEED TO?

WHAT DO YOU HEED TO?

MAIN TEXT: Luke 8:18

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Ecclesiastes 7:21

Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:

What do you heed to simply means what do you listen to? Do you listen to positive or negative words, do you listen to what changes or destroys to? What kind of music do you listen to? These are the kind of questions you should ask yourselves. What you listen to determines what comes out of you. It is said that ” what you listen to will either Mar or make you”.

As a true believer, you have to be conscious of what you heed to. It will do you more good as a Christian to heed to positive things, listen to Christian music and know the kind of people you surround yourself with and the kind of conversation you engage yourself with them. No one can force you to listen to what you don’t want to; it is a thing of choice. It will be better to stand and walk away than sit to listen to things that will corrupt your mind. When you listen to positive words, it changes you from within but when you give in to negative words, it destroys you completely. When you hear the word, you become accountable, so you must take care how you hear.

According to our key scripture in Luke 8:18, how you listen affects our reception and retention of spiritual truths, so you must take heed how you hear, because indifferent or careless hearing can make God take away His word from you as He did to the Jews.

IF YOU WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM GOD, YOU MUST OBEY WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY HEARD

Prayer: Lord Jesus, opening my spiritual antenna that I shall heed to your voice and keep your words.
