MY MONEY AND MY FAITHFULNESS

MY MONEY & MY FAITHFULNESS

MAIN TEXT – Provers 28:20 – A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 28:8 – Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another who will be kind to the poor.

It is not a new thing that people confuse God’s blessings for wealth. Either ways, our blessing of wealth from God should not just be centered around personal concerns. Poverty should not be the only reason for our faithfulness to God. We ought to serve God in poverty and in wealth, in sickness and in health. The same commitment given into praying to God for the material blessing should be dedicated into serving God with the same material blessing when it comes.

It’s sad to think that some Christians begin to backslide the moment they hit the ‘jackpot’. They begin to bring up frivolous excuses on why they should avoid going to the presence of God. They forget that the same God that gave them those blessings can take them back in a twinkling of an eye. We should learn to serve God with everything they have and all that they are, without a proud heart.

Our act of gratitude to God for those blessings should be evident in their actions and not just the words of their mouth. Their love for God should not be limited to other things aside money or material wealth. Don’t waver on your faithfulness in the service of God because of a moment of pleasure.

STAY FAITHFUL IN SERVICE, IT PAYS!

Prayer: I pray that money is not my master, I am loyal to my God and I will remain faithful to him
