A COMMITMENT TO BE GODLY

A COMMITMENT TO BE GODLY

MAIN TEXT: PSALM 141:4 – Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evil doers; let me not eat of their delicacies.

Psalm139:23-24 – Search me, O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts see if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

When we have the fear of God in our hearts, then can we do things rightly without an external force compelling us to do those things. A commitment to be godly means making conscious and deliberate efforts to live a righteous life because you want to please God and receive honor eternally. In dealing with people in the world, Jesus Christ told us that though we are in the world but we are not of the world.

Being godly goes beyond regular attendance to fellowship rather it is living our lives completely for God in complete obedience to how He expects us to behave wherever and whenever the demand comes. There are always two sides in this matter, which are the way of God and the way of the world. God wants us to make good choices, He loves to see us obey without being threatened.

Remember that God’s ways may not always be comfortable to the flesh or acceptable by the public but it is surely the best for us at the moment. Even when it is difficult, we should stick to doing it right and well. In this, God will be committed to our success.

GODLINESS IS A SURE WAY TO DESTINY FULFILMENT AND IT KEEPS US THERE PRAYER: Oh Lord, lead me to live to please and honour you in Jesus name
