SAVED BY GRACE
Main text: Ephesians 2:8- For by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
Romans 5:8 – but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Grace is God’s unmerited favour .Thankfully, it has never depended upon even one work of ours. That is why grace is so amazing. In our main text, St. Paul stated that we can be saved by grace through faith which means that salvation is through faith, not as a condition of salvation, but it is the way which God has appointed for the receiving and enjoying it, that so it might appear to be all of grace; and this faith is not the produce of man’s free will and power, but it is the free gift of God, and therefore salvation through it, is consistent with salvation by grace, since that itself is of grace, lies entirely in receiving grace and gives all the glory to the grace of God.
God knows we are fallible. He knows we mess up. He wants us to live obedient lives but knows that we will never be able to do that on our own, so Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, died a sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary for our sin. He saved us and all we need to do is to believe by faith that Christ has already paid the price for us.
Being saved by grace, we have received a gift from God that we do not deserve. God gives us His favor, His Love, His Son despite the fact that we have done nothing to earn it. We have being delivered from the righteous judgment of God through no act of our own but by God’s unmerited favour. And now through the grace, we are made right with God. We can have a relationship with Him.
