FOLLOW A LIFE GUIDE

FOLLOW A LIFE GUIDE

MAIN TEXT – 2 Kings 2:2 – And Elijah said unto Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee: For the Lord hath sent me to bethel and Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee, so they went down to Bethel.

2 Kings 2:5 – And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha and said unto him, knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today? And he answered yea, I know it; hold your peace.

A life guide is someone who advices, disciplines, encourages, prays and coaches you. A man like Gehazi did not know the value of a life guide and never followed the guiding principles to achieve the success in such relationship. He could not wait for his time of blessings to come, he became faster than the God that called him and got leprosy – 2 Kings 5:26-27. This singular act of greed brought curse to his generation also instead of blessings.

We can see how Elisha was committed to follow Elijah even when the sons of the prophets jeered at him that his master will be taken away, he responded that he knew and continued with his master because he knew the importance of having a life guide on the path of destiny. A life guide is there to make you become the best that God has made you to be. The expectation of the life guide is to make sure that you become better than him or her.

It is our responsibility to keep a good relationship with the life guide that comes our way because there is great benefit in maintaining good relationship. Even when we must have made more successes than them, we should keep them because they are of inestimable worth if we discover good life guide.

GREATNESS IS EASILY ACHIEVED BEING WITH THOSE THAT ARE GREAT IN THEIR LIFE

PRAYER: Wonderful God, help me to keep a good relationship with my life guide and mentor, and help me discover my life guide in Jesus name.
