Main text: 2 Corinthians 10:4 – For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds
2 Corinthians 10:5b – And bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
There is a sinful pattern the devil uses to pull down the Christians especially, when he discovers that the Christian is conscious to please God. look at what is written in the book of James 1:15, ‘Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death’.
This is satan’s subtle manner. Sinful desire produces sinful action if not subdued. The subduing of sinful thought remains a major spiritual warfare that every Christian must engage with. The power of the holy spirit is the power needed to remain victorious. The power of the holy spirit of God in us gives us the ability to demolish the stronghold – the sinful thought.
To exercise this power calls for obedience and submission to the voice of the Holy Spirit.We must go for the mind of Christ – 1 Corinthians 2:16. Every thought that flies into our mind must undergo a spiritual check under the light of God’s word. If our thought doesn’t agree with God’s pleasure then, we must rebuke and uproot it.
