FULFILLING YOUR VOW UNTO GOD

FULFILLING YOUR VOWS UNTO GOD

Main text: Ecclesiastes 5:2 – Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

1 Samuel 1:28 – Therefore also I have granted him to Jehovah; as long as he liveth he is granted to Jehovah. And he worshipped Jehovah there.

Vow can be defined as a solemn promise or a strong commitment to God to do a specific thing. It is not something you make out of self-pity or is it to gain praise from men (vain glory). It spurred from the depth of your heart as a commitment in other to receive an expected blessings or miracles from God or to express your gratitude before Him.

From our text, Hannah is a typical example of one who understood the essence of fulfilling vow unto God. In the course of desiring and praying fervently for a child, she promised to dedicate the child to God, if He will open her womb. By this singular act of hers, she has other children in the future. When God blessed her with Samuel, she never hesitated to fulfil her vow.

Beloved, have you fulfilled the vow you made unto God? What is the purpose behind your vow? Are you in a haste to make vows just to please men?
Finally, there is always a blessing to receive when you fulfil your vows but the reverse is the case when you fail to fulfil it, so, beware not to make vow that you can’t fulfil (Mathew 5:33).

ENDEAVOUR TO FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO GOD
