GOD’S WORD IS INFALLIBLE
Main text: 2 Timothy 3:16 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
2 Peter 1:19 – And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
Basically, infallibility is the belief that what the Bible says regarding matters of faith and Christian practice is wholly useful and true. It is the belief that the Bible is completely trust worthy as a guide to salvation and the life of faith and will not fail to accomplish it’s purpose. When we say that God’s word is infallible, we are stating that is without flaws and absolutely true.
The word is profitable for the people of God. All of it is “God-breathed”. The word of God is entirely pure, perfect and true. The Bible itself does not make any restrictions on the kinds of subjects to which it speaks truthfully. Dr Beeke explains, “the reformers taught that the worst of God’s infallibility is exhaustive, for everything word of every sentence is the breath of the living God.”
All scripture is “God-breathed” and has the effect of producing servants of God who are thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Bible is the word of God. It is God’s direct word to all of us. As such, God has made sure to make all of it completely reliable, truth worthy and truthful so we could all be totally dependent upon it for our daily living with Him for the word of God never fails.
The Bible claims complete perfection in and many other places. It is factual throughout and infact, judges us. The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It is the sole objective source of all God has given us about Himself and His plan for humanity.
As God’s infallible word, the Bible is inerrant, authoritative, reliable, and sufficient to meet our needs.
No prophecy of scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy, though human, spoke from God’s as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21).
GOD’S WORDS NEVER FAIL
Prayer: Father, let every word of prosperity and favour spoken over my life by way of prophecy manifest in Jesus name.
