THE GOD OF SURPLUS BLESSINGS
Main text: Psalm132:15 – “I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.”
Genesis 1:27-28 – God created man in his own image and likeness and blessed man with prosperity and dominion over everything on earth
All that God demands from man is obedience and righteousness in order to bless him the more. Moses; God’s servant in Deuteronomy 28:1-14 unfolded numerous and unending blessings of God unto whosoever keeps God’s commandments. God saw obedience and righteousness in father Abraham and not only blessed him but also made him father of all nations- Genesis 12:1-4.
The problems of man up to date are disobedience and self-righteousness which have kept the hands of God to bless him shortened.
In Jeremiah 35:18-19, God observed the sons of Rekabites obeyed all his commandments which their father, Jehonadab taught them and therefore, promised that the house of Rekab would never want a man to stand before his presence forever.
In Malachi 3:10, God promised tithers that he would shower them with blessings that they would not have room enough to contain them.
These blessings include spiritual blessings whereby your soul is saved – I Timothy 4:16 and material blessings- Job36:11.
Jesus Christ is our typical example who did the will of God and is today sitting at the right hand of God in heaven interceding for us (Hebrews 7:25).
