WINNING WITHOUT FIGHTING

WINNING WITHOUT FIGHTING

Main text: 2 Chronicles 20:17 – “You will not have to fight this battle; Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, go out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you”:

Hebrews 11:30 – “By faith the wall of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.”

“It’s so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word…” says Lousia Stead. Let us look at an Old Testament story of winning without fighting. God will help us to learn the vital lessons therein. 2 Chron. 20:1-22-37. To win the battles of life without fighting these two steps must be followed. Take up your position and wait. Trust and obey God. In the face of an impending danger, they may not be invading army like the one king Jehoshaphat faced. Our response to them is a good measure of our devotion and reliance on God.

We should listen for God’s guidance and be prepared to obey the instructions he gives even when they do not seem logical. After receiving the answer to your prayer, remember to take time to worship him. It pleases Him when we return thanks to Him even before the actual victory.

Winning without fighting, we see ourselves into battle that God Himself had fought and won. We become spectators of the battle between God and the foreign army or agents of darkness. We shall serve as clearing agents of the booties the Lord provided, just as it happened to King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah.

GOD IS THE ONE WHO FIGHTS MY BATTLE, BOTH SEEN AND UNSEEN AND HE CONTINUALLY GRANTS US VICTORY

Prayer: Lord God, you are victorious in all things. Help me to put my trust in you always.
