LITTLE OBSTACLES THAT IMPEDE OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE

Main Text: Songs of Solomon 2:15 – Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines. For our vines have tender grapes (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 8:9 – But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.

God created us to make progress in life without much obstacles but sometimes there are factors that put spanners in that our wheel of progress. We have heard of a dead rat on an electric transformer robbing consumers of regular supply of power to their homes. We have also heard of the presence of a rat disturbing an international flight for 12 hours for fear.

Solomon in our main text above calls these types of disturbances “little foxes” that spoil the vine. Our vine is our fruitfulness, our jubilee, or our result package.
The Bible records a lot of these little foxes. Sleep as sweet as it is can be a little fox, stopping our spiritual progress when we love too much of it that we cannot pray at regular times. Its next of kin is laziness (Proverb 26:14).

What about procrastination which is like a cousin to sleep and laziness. We are advised not to leave for tomorrow what we can do today i.e. borrowing from tomorrow. It is a thief of time that should be dealt with immediately.
The list is endless. Their big brother is “excuses”. In Proverbs 26:13 Mr. Excuse will proffer a reason for not doing certain things. Please refuse to listen to excuse.

NEVER ALLOW THESE LITTLE FOXES TRUNCATE YOUR WAY TO YOUR JUBILEE AND JOY THIS YEAR. BE VIGILANT AND LOOK UP TO GOD.

Prayer: Mighty God in battle guide us to face challenges as they come. Help us to shun procrastination which is a thief of time.
