SUNDAY – MARCH 14, 2021
VICTORY OVER BATTLES
Main Text- Psalm 44:6-7- I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you gave me victory over our enemies. You put our adversaries to shame.
Psalm 46:9- He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spears; He burns the shields with fire.
The writer of Psalms 44 was King David who happened to be a mighty warrior. He made a sensitive statement about his instrument of war, he said “I put no trust in my bow and my sword does not bring me victory” The big question is this, has any of these weapons of war assisted him? The answer is yes, but he knew that the arms of flesh has the inbuilt ability to disappoint and fail so he relied on His God for victory whether through any means it was up to God.
Today our instrument could be a person or thing that renders assistance to us but we must also bear in mind that it can fail any day and frustrate our plans but our God does not fail. God gives us victory and this victory is through Jesus Christ who is a free gift of God, we didn’t have to earn it.
True victory comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. Believers are conquerors through Him and will always triumph in Christ.
