THINK TO GROW BETTER
MAIN TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. (NIV)
LUKE 15:17-18
When he was come to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. (NIV)
One of the differences between man and other animals is man’s ability to think and reason. This ability should help you to know when, where and how to do something so as to achieve a good result to better your life and existence. It is important that your heart thinks of good things and not evil because what you think about has a way of affecting you outwardly. The Bible says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34) and when the mouth speaks of evil, it will affect you negatively.
To grow better, you must first think of good and righteous things (Philippians 4:8), you must anchor your thoughts on God and do not stop at just thinking but go ahead and do those righteous things and the God of peace will be with you (Philippians 4; 9) and His Spirit will teach, guard and guide you in all your ways. When this happens, your spiritual and financial growth will be divine, which is, one without stress but long lasting.
Even if you are not yet born again or you were but have backslidden, today you have a golden opportunity for you to think of going back to God just like the prodigal son who left his father’s house of plenty and went into the world and was negatively affected.
RIGHTEOUS THOUGHTS PRODUCE THE RIGHT GROWTH AND FRUITS
