GIVE THANKS ALWAYS
Main Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18-‘‘In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ for you’’
During the peak of the corona pandemic in 2020, an 83 year old man received a bill of N485,000.00 for being treated with a ventilator for 3 days. He started crying and when asked why, He said that though he could comfortably settle the bill, but now he now realized how ungrateful he had been to God who had given him breathe for the past 83 years free of charge without thanking Him.
Are you not touched that we breathe air from God and take it for granted without being grateful? How many times do we thank God for the air we breathe? Do we realize that a dead man cannot pray for health, life or breakthrough, etc. No now! God has promised to supply all our needs and what we don’t have now, we don’t need now.
To be thankful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us all things and every breathe we draw is a gift of His love.
Therefore we should thank God for life. No matter the battles, confronting you, be grateful for the common air you use daily. Draw from this story, to show gratitude to God for the gift of life. Refuse depression, murmuring or secret anger against God. Refuse self pity.
OUR LOVE FOR GOD IS MEASURABLE IN OUR GRATITUDE TO HIM
Prayer: Father God, forgive us for our ungratefulness in the past. Receive, all glory for all your benefits and blessings, which we receive freely from you.
