A LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE

Main Text: Psalm 113:3 – ‘‘From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.

Psalm 119:164 – Seven times a day do I praise thee, Because of thy righteous ordinances.

We cannot praise God enough. But most of the time we have praised Him too little. And this adds to our problems with Him. When we are overwhelmed by circumstances, the last thing we feel like doing is praising God. But it should be the first thing we should do, because praise gets our attention, off ourselves unto God miraculous power. Remember Jehoshaphat faced an army he had no hope of defeating. But when he started to praise God his enemies destroyed themselves while he and his people looked on in amazement. (2 Chron. 20:20-23).

When Paul and Silas praised God in prison, their chains were broken and prison door were opened. It is always normal to focus on the problem and forget to praise God. But praise so resolves problems by stirring up the manifestation of the spirit and electrifies the spirit upon you for the miraculous and for maximum impact in life. And once the spirit on you is activated, you are turned to another man.

We should therefore acknowledge the power of praise and choose to exalt God regardless of how we feel, for praise brings us into God’s presence and positions us for His favour, mercy and blessing.
