CHRISTIAN SANCTIFICATION
MAIN TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:21
“If a man therefore purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work”
“And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron’s head, and anointed him to sanctify him” Leviticus 8:12
Today’s world is filled with ungodly lifestyles, attitudes and behaviours that are contrary to the word of God. Sexual immorality, lying and cheating are all now acceptable practices in today’s society. Nevertheless, we live in an ungodly and unholy society yet God has called us to live a holy life in an unholy world.
This will only be possible through sanctified life. Sanctification is a call to put off old self, become holy and set apart for God’s use (see our main text 2 Timothy 2:21). It is a process of heart, mind , and desires being brought into greater conformity with God’s.
Again, beloved, it is true that we are bombarded by ungodly lifestyles and influences, however, we must determine even in the midst of these evil influences to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let us also determine to pursue our relationship with God, getting to know Him and learning to please Him. Remember to always reflect on who you are in Christ. We are God’s Children called to honour Him no matter the condition of the world. You have been sanctified and set apart for every good work.
SANCTIFICATION IS THE WILL OF GOD FOR YOU!
PRAYER: Oh Lord, give me your grace to live a sanctified life without struggle in Jesus Name!
