ABSTAIN FROM WORLDLINESS
Main Text: 1 John 2:15 (KJV)
“Love not the world neither the things that are in the world”. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him”
Matthew 15:27 – For the Son of man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
John the Beloved, who felt, tasted, and experienced the love of God is the one admonishing us here. You remember John who learned on the breast of Jesus? He is also the writer of the Book of Revelation under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God.
No one who has tasted the love of Jesus, will still want to remain worldly with the Devil who has come to steal, kill, and to destroy. The Devil is responsible for the Spirit of worldliness and at the end; he sends one to hell fire. The things that are in the world are the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, and the lust of the eyes, are very deceitful.
They are very enticing that is why some agents of Satan, kill for money rituals, etc. Greed, covetousness, wickedness, selfishness, and all manner of evil acts, characterize worldliness. Search yourself today, are you worldly?
