DON’T LOSE THE FEAR OF GOD
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 25:14 ‘’The LORD confides in those who fear him: he makes his covenant known to them.’’
Ecclesiastes 12:13 – ’Now all Have been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.’
All over the scriptures, we are told, ‘fear not.‘ Statistics show about 360 times it occurred in the bible. These words are powerful spiritual bullets that build courage and boldness in the believer. However, there is an aspect of fear we must retain and possess in our lives; ‘the fear of God.’’ That reverential feeling of awe borne out of respect for the personality of God.
It is the acceptance and acknowledgement of who and what God is. He is ‘THE ALMIGHTY GOD.’ The Lord Jesus puts it this way, ‘Fear not those who can only kill the flesh, but fear him who can kill the flesh and throw it into hell fire. To fear God means to have an attitude of love and worship for God.
When you don’t fear God, you risk losing God’s confidence to trust you with kingdom matters. You also lose His guidance. It is a dangerous spiritual state.Show me a man without the fear God and I will show you a man who swims in compromise and corruption.
REVERENCE TO GOD KEEPS YOU VERY CLOSE TO GOD’S HEART
Prayer: My father and My God, help me to retain your fear in me always in Jesus name, Amen.
