OUT OF MIRY CLAY
Main Text: Psalms 40:1-3
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth — Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”
“When the LORD turned again the captivity of zion, we were like them that dream.”
From the Oxford Learner’s dictionary miry clay is an area of deep mud or a difficult, unpleasant situation that you cannot escape from. You are stuck in deep mud. But thank God for Psalm 126:1, our main text, which gave us sudden turn around and we are out of the miry clay. “But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” (Genesis 39:21).
God is Sovereign, over all and above all. He has nobody to report to other than Himself. He is free to do whatsoever He likes with the works of His hands and nobody can query Him. He is free to also determine how to judge those that sin against Him.
Joseph in Egypt benefited from God’s favour and mercy, and was out of the miry clay.
When your fame continues to grow in spite of determined opposition, fiery attacks, the active presence of enemies, and unpleasant reports, know that it is your season of favour and that you are out of the miryclay. Joseph’s fame did not stop spreading until it got to the kings palace, he received a presidential pardon and ended up as the Prime Minister of Egypt. Believe God and you shall be established. (2 Chronicles 20:20).
NO MATTER YOUR FAILURE, YOU CAN RISE AGAIN.
Prayer: O God of Heaven and earth, give me Grace to bounce back to life and glory days again in Jesus Name. Amen
