DO YOU REVERENCE GOD?
MAIN TEXT: PSALM 34:9 Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
Luke 1:50 – His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
Our fear of the LORD should be based on our knowledge of His love, mercy, and goodness. It rests on the fact that God is our Heavenly Father and it is our desire to please Him. We cannot fear God until we know Him.
The fear of the Lord is life-giving because it is the condition of those who are truly looking toward Him. The intent of reverencing God is not necessarily to avoid the punishment of disobedience but to keep a good relationship with God. Our attention is not on the punishment of sin but on Christ.
A Christian who fears the Lord, avoids alot of satanic traps of temptations and maintains the right atmosphere for God to be with him.
IN EVERY DECISION, REVERENCE GOD
PRAYER: In Jesus’ name, give me the spirit that always seek to fear you. May I never be destroyed by the over familiarity of your presence. Amen
