BUILD ON CHRIST – THE ROCK
MAIN TEXT: Matthew 7:24 – Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:25 – And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
A preacher once told the story of a who went into a forest to cut down all the trees. But as he began his work, he saw a mother bird building a nest in one of the trees. So he banged on the tree and agitated her enough that she moved, but she simply flew to another tree. The preacher explained that the lumberjack did this over and over until finally the bird flew to a rock and began making a nest there. The preacher concluded the story by saying, “There is not tree in this world that is not coming down, so build your life on the Rock.”
It’s true that being a true disciple of Jesus will not keep you from “rain, floods and winds” and all kinds of trials in your life — but when you do experience those things, you will have divine peace, strength, and you will stand and not fall, if you have built your life upon the ROCK!
We must have a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus and build on that relationship. Have Him as your Lord and doing All He asks you to do. Remember the wedding at Cana in Galilee, Jesus’ Mother told the servants to do All that Jesus instructed them and boom… The best miracle happened for them.
DON’T SHIFT YOUR GROUNDS WHEN STORMS COME
PRAYER: Oh God, make me to be the wise builder. Forgive me in any way I have shifted grounds and teach me discipline as I build on Christ. Amen
