GO AND FULFILL YOUR VOW
MAIN TEXT:Psalm 76:11
Make vows to the Lord your God, and pay them; Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared.
Deuteronomy 23:23 Whatever you vow, you must be careful to do what you have promised, such as what you have vowed to the Lord your God as a freewill offering.
The scripture above tells us that when we make a vow or promise unto God, that we pay that promise. I have seen and heard many people promise God that if He would do something for them, that they would serve and never go back from Him again and then when God did His part to fulfill what they asked, they chose to ignore their part. Malachi 1:14 “Cursed is the cheat who promises to give a fine ram from his flock but then sacrifices a defective one to the Lord. For I am a great king,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “and my name is feared among the nations.
God has a way of teaching us that it’s important to keep our vows. This is also what we call making a commitment. And this is addressed to the believer. What is that vow you made to God? Money, or services, or your life or that of your family? God is waiting for you, even the accuser—Satan might use them against you. Peradventure you know that you can’t fulfill the vow, please seek for divine counsel from your priest or pastor. Ecclesiastes 5:4-5, “When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it, for He takes no delight in fools. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay”.
REMEMBER THAT NO MAN CAN CHEAT GOD
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to fulfill my vows, have mercy on me. Holy Spirit, remind me of the unfulfilled vows I made, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
