Character is Important
Main Text: Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will
and to do His good pleasure”.
1 Peter 2:21 “ For even here unto were ye called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps”.
According to Oxford Dictionary, character is all the qualities and features that
make a person, groups of people and places different from others. Good character is very important in the life of every believer. Spiritual gifts without good character traits will only lead to shame. A woman who is gifted and beautiful, but is lacking in character may most likely turn out to be a beast. Similarly, a man who is powerful, intelligent and highly gifted but is lacking in character may end up in prison. If you doubt this, ask Samson. God.s nature or character should guide us.
„Ye are gods and children of the most high”.
Christ-like character should envelop us. He is full of Good-will, easy, happy,
truthful, faithful, Righteous, Holy and so on. That is really His make–up. Our
attitude to everything is settled by what we think about God. If we don.t think
about God, we are living in reproach. You are identified by your character. Jesus said “learn of me I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your soul (Matthew 11:29). The faithfulness of God, as His character meant that, He didn.t change from what He said He had been. He never did anything out of His character whatever He did was His real self.
CHARACTER MAKES A MAN AND BRINGS HIM BEFORE KINGS
