HOLY DISOBEDIENCE

HOLY DISOBEDIENCE

MAIN TEXT-Acts 4:19

Judge for yourselves whether it is right in Gods sight to obey you rather than God

2 CORINTHIANS 10:5

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

Common sense teaches that we have to be tolerant and flexible to live at peace with others. The Bible gives partial support to this when in Rom 12:18, it admonishes us “to live at peace with everyone, if it is possible, and as far as it depends on you”. Sometimes we have to compromise in order to live  harmoniously with others but for Christian certain things cannot be compromised and one of those things is obedience to God.s Word. In the miracle of Peter and John at the beautiful gate in Acts 3, the religious
leaders threatened the apostles not to speak nor teach in the name of Jesus.

But Peter and John however brushed aside religious leaders. threat and disobeyed them by going ahead to give honour to the name of Jesus Christ. They were not saying that Jesus. followers should become religious extremists and start holy wars neither were they to be religious cowards who shy away from spiritual responsibility.

Today, many Christians do not dare to live out or talk about their faith in public. Under cover of common sense and wisdom and obedience, many of us compromise and even totally forget our witness for Christ. We know that evangelism is the heart –beat of God today.

Brethren, we should not be afraid but rather be bold Christians who will not give up under the pressures of secularism and political obedience to disobey the God we serve.

ALWAYS PLEASE GOD FIRST

Prayer: God empower me with courage and boldness to invite unbelievers to your kingdom in Christ.s power and name Amen.
