POWER OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER

POWER OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER

Main Text: Acts 12:5 – Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. (KJV)

Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. (KJV)

Intercessory prayer is an act of standing on behalf of another in prayer concerning their needs. It also entails taking hold of God.s will and refusing to let go until His will happens. A prayerful intercession is not limited to those who you know alone. It entails praying fervently, selflessly and to the glory of God. It.s good to intercede in prayer alone; however, amazing things happen when we come into agreement prayer. This was so with the early church, they interceded on behalf of Peter who was apprehended by King Herod and was put in prison. God sent His angel to break the chains that bound him and lead him away from that prison. (Acts 12:7)

Also, the Christian journey is not one we can do alone, we need each other.s prayer for strength, to conquer or run through to the end. Praying for others is one of the opportunities we have to express God.s love to people. When we make the effort and time to pray for others, we can expect amazing results.

Finally, we are the Jesus of our time, who mediate or intercede on behalf of others as Christ intercedes on our behalf to the Father. And when we fail to intercede, we tend to sin against God. (1 Samuel 12:23).

WHEN YOU INTERCEDE FOR OTHERS, YOU ARE ALSO PRAYING FOR YOURSELF.

Prayer Point: Revive us Lord with the heart to intercede.
