GOD GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE
MAIN TEXT: PROVERBS 3:34 – “GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE”
Our focus today is on Humility. From the scripture above, it’s correct to say that the path to receiving grace is humility. Pride is focusing on self and service of self, a pursuit of self-recognition and self-exaltation, a desire to control and use all things for self. Pride is all about self above God, and above other men. IMPORTANT POINTS TO KNOW ABOUT HUMILITY 1) Humility is Gods Consciousness. Pride Is self-consciousness. All sins begins with pride. Humility keeps you focus on God and His ways. The more you yield your members and life to loving honoring God, there is multiplicity of Grace (Power, Ability, Zeal, and Oil) to do more. Proverbs 3:5-6. 2) According to Proverbs 18:12 “God gives grace to the humble and lifted them up”. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the LORD and He will Lift you up” James 4:10.
There is a spiritual law that pride comes before the fall. But humility comes before honor. 3) Humility is a vehicle of receiving Gods grace. Turn to Isaiah 66:1-2. God is not concerned about sacrifices but God is concern about right response and manner before Him. Humility is the sacrifice of one’s self to God and to Mankind 4) God gives grace to the humble; He comes to the aid of the lowly, and blesses the poor in Spirit. As we humble ourselves with one another and before God, The humble heart is a submissive heart, a childlike heart, a heart full of faith, a heart that is able to trust God even at point of death. A humble heart doesn’t fight for self. It fights for God to be glorified. It seeks God’s attention not men’s attention.
“CHECK YOURSELF ARE YOU HONESTLY HUMBLE OR THERE IS HIDDEN PRIDE WITHIN”?
