DOES YOUR CHARACTER SMELL?

FEBRUARY 13 WEDNESDAY

Topic: DOES YOUR CHARACTER SMELL?

Main Text: 1 Corinthians 4:7 – for who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou didst not receive? Now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hast not received it?

1 Corinthians 6:20 – For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

A good character is a blessing and gift to the church and the world but a bad character that cannot be controlled is a doom to the world.

A bad character has the tendency to repulse and does not encourage any form of relationship.

Beloved, does your character smell? Does it bring out good aroma? The Apostle Paul saw the disgusting and repulsive character that was among the Corinthian church and he asked them rhetorically, who made them to differ from one another?

What did they have that they did not receive? And why are the boasting as if God is not the giver? These questions should go to us too.

The character that was exhibited in the Corinthian church was pride; they took themselves as those that have “arrived”. They have all knowledge, understanding, gifts and wealth that they did not see the need for correction and reproof.

Thanks be to God for reminding them that they were bought with a price- they were bought with the life (blood of Jesus Christ) and they are owned by God.

Our character must glorify God physically and spiritually. We cannot claim to have a glorious spiritual life and exhibit a shameful behaviour to our neighbours and people.

A MAN WITH A GODLY CHARACTER HAS FAVOUR WITH GOD AND MAN.

Prayer Point: In Jesus name, I deal with all bad traits and character in my life.
