TOPIC: HUMILITY IS NOT STUPIDITY
Main text: JAMES 4:6(kjv) ―But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, ―God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble‖.
Proverbs 11:2 – When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Humility is defined by Webster Dictionary as ‗the quality of having a modest or low view of one‘s importance‘ while stupidity is ―behaviour that shows a lack of good sense or judgment‖ As much as the word of God enjoins us to be humble, it does not call for lack of good sense of judgment which is stupidity.
God expects that we should be able to discern from good and evil. We are expected to decipher between what is acceptable by God’s standards and principles, and what is not even as we live a humble life unto God.
In our humility, we are not expected to accept anything that will jeopardize our faith in all the name of humility. We should know when to put down our feet to resist evil, and what will not encourage our Christian faith.
We should know when to say yes or no, to issues that bothers on our faith in Christ Jesus, and not swallow every teaching, we hear hook, line, and sinker. Wisdom comes in here, not to please Satan and displease God. We are rather expected to Obey God, than Men
LET THE SPIRIT OF HUMILITY AND WISDOM GUIDE US TODAY.
Prayer Point: Oh God, cause us to be humble and that the spirit of stupidity be far from us in Jesus Name.
