BEHOLD HOLINESS WITH YOUR EYES

BEHOLD HOLINESS WITH YOUR EYES

Main Text: 1Peter 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is Holy, so be ye Holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, be ye Holy; for I am Holy”.

Malachi 3:3 “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the priests the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord offerings in righteousness.

It is obvious from this main text that God expects His children to be Holy, just as He is holy. The word holy is small in size but big in importance. Holiness is separation to God, a separation that should result in conduct befitting those so separated. As saints, as holy ones, we are supposed to represent the Holy one who has called us out of the world and separated us unto Himself for His design and purposes (Roman 8:28).

The Holy Spirit is called Holy, because that is what He is, and His purpose, in taking up residence in us is to make us holy too. “I appeal to you therefore brethren and beg of you in view of all the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies, presenting all your member and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy, [devoted, concentrated] and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service and spiritual worship” (Roman 12:1).

Apostle Paul is saying that we are to dedicate to God everything about us—not only our possession, our money, time, etc, but also our bodies, our heads, our eyes, our tongue, hands and our attitude. Our facial expressions should be pleasing to God. True Holiness is a combined effort between us and Holy Spirit.

THE SEED OF HOLINESS HAS TO BE WATERED WITH THE WORD OF GOD.

Prayer point: O God, help me to live a holy life always in Jesus name, Amen.
