DON’T VEX THE HOLY SPIRIT
MAIN TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:30
―And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye on sealed unto redemption.
Matthew 12:31, ―Wherefore I say, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven.
The Holy Spirit is the promise of Jesus to the world. He is the third Person in the Trinity, our Comforter, Friend, Master, and Guide, etc. His coming was the fulfillment of the words of Jesus to His disciples and to the world in John 14:12-21.
Today, the Holy Spirit dwells amongst us, not in flesh as Jesus Christ did in His days, but in our hearts as a Spirit He is, because of this invisibility, a lot of Christians disregard His existence. We do a lot of things that hurt the Holy Spirit; lies, fornication, envy, murder, many works of the flesh which do not edify the body.
All these hurt the Holy Spirit, which is why whenever we commit such works of flesh, the Holy Spirit with His gentle voice speaks to our conscience and tries to bring us back to order. Many a times, we ignore that voice and continue in sin, not even willing to remember the consequences that follow.
However, the longer we hurt the Holy Spirit, the more He leaves our hearts. Romans 1:28. We should be very careful how we relate with the Holy Spirit, the things we do, the people we move around with as well as avoid profane blabbing as these hurt the Holy Spirit.
IT IS DANGEROUS TO ANNOY YOUR COMFORTER

Dear God, guide my actions and inactions to avoid hurting the Holy Spirit.
