TRUTH REQUIRES TRUST

June Day 27 Thursday

TRUTH REQUIRES TRUST

MAIN TEXT: GENESIS 18:19

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.(KJV)

EPHESIANS 4:25

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. (NIV)

Trust is very important in the relationship between two or more people or between God and man. For a relationship to be strong and lasting, it must be built on truth and honesty which leads to trust. We cannot be trusted or entrusted with anything if we are found to be dishonest, undependable and unreliable. It is not all about how we see our self but how God and other people see us.

God is too truthful to his word, faithful, dependable and reliable. He made us like himself so, he expects us to have the same attributes as himself. He does not expect to hear us say we are coming while we are going, or that we love while we hate, that we will while we will not. Our yes must be our yes and no be no. We must be open and transparent in all our dealings and we will win the trust of all around us. This will make them to develop great confidence in us, they will entrust higher responsibilities and confidential matters in our hands and God who rewards honesty will take us to higher ground, bless and announce us.

In our main text, God tested Abraham and discovered that Abraham was faithful and he lifted Abraham to his higher ground and Abraham became father of many nations. God knew that Jesus Christ was faithful to his word to save mankind, which was why He entrusted the redemption mandate in the hands of Jesus and Jesus did not disappoint him and God gave Jesus a name above every other name. Dearly beloved, do you want to be trusted? Then, keep living a truthful and honest life, God and men will trust you.

THE TRUTH YOU TELL TODAY CAN SAVE A SOUL

PRAYER: Oh God, by the power of your word I subdue the spirit of dishonesty in my life. Amen!
