STUDY TO BE APPROVED
MAIN TEXT: JOSHUA 1:18
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous and then thou shall have good success. (KJV)
2 TIMOTHY 2:15
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (KJV)
Knowledge, they say ―is power‖. When you are knowledgeable about something, you will believe absolutely in that thing and talk or discourse it with great conviction, power and authority. We cannot gain knowledge without diligence, being eager or making effort to know so as to gain knowledge.
As a child of God, you and I must make effort to know and live out the mind of God; his heart beat. It is God‘s heart beat that we should be holy because he is holy. We should car for the less privileged, weak and oppressed around us, take care of the fatherless, orphans, widows and widowers, the sick and those in prison, preach to and save the lost souls. All these and more are the word and mind of God which is Jesus and these are what he stands for.
Our main text is commanding us today to meditate on the word of God which requires diligently making effort to study it day and night so as to know it very well, preach it to everyone nonstop and live it out ourselves.
In doing these, we will receive God’s son ship approval, be useful to God our master, and be able to know when someone is teaching false
doctrine over the truth. We must not allow others tempt us to living a different life style order than the life Christ showed us.
