READ THE BIBLE DAILY
Main text – 2 TIMOTHY 2:15 – Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
PSALM 119:130 – The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple.
One cannot truly claim to believe in something he has no knowledge about. To be a true Christian, you must endeavour to study the bible daily. Professing to be a Christian means, being just like Christ when he was on earth. You cannot fully attain to the statue of Christ if you do not know God (His nature).
Studying the bible tells us more about God and our faith. Our text is telling us that if study the word of God daily, we get approved by God – God is not ashamed of us because we can defend Him and what we believe through His word (The bible) anywhere we find ourselves.
The knowledge obtained from the word of God helps to be good stewards to God. We can be accountable for our behaviour and stand firm for Christ. When the word is in you, darkness runs far from you because you are a carrier of God.
The word of God gives you understanding of the times and seasons. The word is the tool you need to defeat the enemy. The word of God brings light and this light is Christ (John 1:1-5). With the word of God, you can command circumstances to change for your good (Matthew 7:7).
All the above mentioned benefits only comes by knowing the word of God and appropriating it in your life. Without having Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, you may not understand even though you study. Seek and receive Jesus in your life today beloved and your life’s journey will be buttered by God.
