THE MYSTERY OF TESTIMONIES

Main Text: 1 John 5:11
This is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in his Son.

I Thessalonians 5:14- We urge you brothers, to admonish those who are idle, cheer up those who are discouraged, and help those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.

Testimony is an evidence or proof of something. It is also a formal written or spoken statement, 1 John 5:9 says that “we accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God which he has given about his son” What is this testimony? It is that Jesus is Christ, He is the son of God and that He has given us His son who is our eternal life.

The main lie is to deny that Jesus is the Christ and such is the antichrist- 1 John 2:22. This is the greatest testimony for every believer and this testimony that you have eternal life – Christ is eternal evidence that we should boast of. We must use this testimony to admonish our fellow Christians. This should encourage us because this eternal life makes all believers to be equal in fellowship.

This should encourage us because this eternal life makes all believers to be equal in fellowship. We may not have equal acquisition of wealth, cars, houses, riches etc but we can all have eternal life. This is the testimony which distinguishes Christians from non- Christians.
