THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST’S MANIFESTATION
Main Text: 1 John 3: 8 (NKJV) – He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Philippians 2:9-10 (NKJV) – Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
Our focus today is to discuss the essence of Christ’s appearance on earth and His presence in our lives. Prior to the salvation of the world through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the enemy – devil was a large, deceiving, manipulating and causing men to sin against God without a second thought but Christ’s appearance changed the picture.
Our main text explains it all. Yes, the works of the devil include all form of fleshly desires.
The destruction of the work of the devil takes place from the point of accepting Jesus into your life, as our Lord and personal saviour. From then onward, the gradual steps taken in knowing more about God, further destroys the works of the devil also.
The bible admonishes us to forsake not the assembling of Christians because by doing so, we rub off the anointing of God from each other. This anointing is the power we have to rule over sin and destroy the works of devil. You must recognise that the one that lives in you is almighty –all powerful and at the mention His name, demons tremble in fear and flee from our presence.
Beloved, Christ’s manifestation on earth is to guarantee your daily victory in this world of uncertainty. God loved us first and thereby made a provision through Christ Jesus that we shall live above sin and have a fruitful journey on earth as we walk with Him daily.
