DO NOT COMPROMISE

DO NOT COMPROMISE

MAIN TEXT: DANIEL 1:8 – But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine and asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself in this way.

Deuteronomy 11:16 – Be careful or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them.

Compromise in the context of our Christian values and standards mean to act or do something against those values, standards and principles. We should make friends with those who respect our values and honor them, otherwise, we end up compromising to maintain those friendship. Daniel and his friends were presented with an enticement but they knew when to say No and act according to their principles not minding the royal environment they were at the moment. The environment didn’t change them rather they changed it.

There are people around us who will push every button and probe every weakness in order to bring you down. Of course when they succeed, they will attack you and not appreciate you. The person that compromises wants to see others compromise with him, he does not want to be alone in it. Such people must be avoided.

Remember that it is better to be alone and walk with God than to be with many people and sin against the Lord. Sometimes when we refuse to compromise, we are faced with fiery furnace of fire just like shedrack, Mishack and Abednego but they Lord will always show up in the midst of the trouble because we stood up for God.

WHEN WE COMPROMISE, THE DEVIL DEVALUES US. STAND UP FOR GOD AT ALL COST

PRAYER: Lord Jesus. strengthen my faith to resist every compromise and to always please you.
