FATHER, SATISFY MY THIRST LORD
MAIN TEXT – JOHN 6:35 – Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life, he that cometh to me shall never hunger and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Matthew 5:6 – Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.
As human beings, it is natural to feel hungry and thirst for water to help nourish and keep the body alive and after each meal we are satisfied. So also should we hunger and thirst for righteousness and the things of God. There is an infilling of righteousness that every Christian should experience so that living for God will not be a struggle.
Such people will find it as a pleasure living to please God but those who do not thirst and hunger for righteousness live in pains and bitterness, when they are told to obey and honor God. Those people question God for every instruction of Obedience required from them.
Let us consider the desire or prayer of King David in Psalm 42:1-2, ” As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet my God?”
David as a King in all his splendor described how he longs to know the Lord more intimately and dwell in his presence, our earthly positions should not deceive us. We should use our success and earthly achievements to give God a glorious place.
WHEN GOD SATISFIES YOU IT BRINGS DIVINE SETTLEMENT
