KEEP YOUR FOOT FROM EVIL

Main text: 1 Peter 4:15 – For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men’s matters.

Micah 2:1 – Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

As a child of God, who belongs to the family of God, stay away from everything that appears to be evil – keep your foot from evil. A genuine Christian should not have any problem accepting the only standard for living that the Almighty God has set before us in the bible. The bible which stands as an instructional manual from God for Christians to evaluate and weigh their lives daily determines the morality of any action taken.

In addition to obeying God’s commandments, the Holy Spirit admonishes us to avoid anything that looks like evil. Philippians 4:8 says.’ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things’. In order to be consistent in your daily walk with God, this verse of the bible should serve as a guide to shun every appearance of evil.

As Christians, evil must not be mentioned amongst us that we rejoice in iniquity (1 Corinthians 13:6). We should condemn evil acts rather than applauding such. Mischief, strife, envy, jealousy are all causes of evil doing that should be avoided as Christians. Just like in the case of Daniel in the bible, the evil doers who conspire against you shall be cut off in Jesus name, Amen.

FOR WHERE ENVY AND STRIFE IS, EVIL DOERS ARE FOUND.

Prayer Point: Oh Lord, help me to always stand against evil and rejoice in righteousness in Jesus name. Amen
