Main text: Philippians 3:10 (MSG) – I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience His resurrection power, be a partner in His suffering, and go all the way with Him to death itself.
Romans 12:2 (TPT) – Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how we think.
This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His eyes.From the subject of discussion, self talks about being religious i.e. attending services in church, associating with the activities in the Christian faith (doctrines) but denying the power thereof.
In a nutshell, when one who attends church hasn’t experienced the power of salvation from Christ’s death and resurrection from death then, the fellow is operating self righteous. When you have accepted Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, the old nature of sin in you dies with constant fellowship with God and a new life of Christ springs forth. This new life makes it difficult to indulge in sin without the pricking of the Spirit of God.
When you submit your life entirely to God, He regenerates you from the inside through the transformation of your mind. Your mind becomes alike with God as His light of His word illuminates it. From the main text, Paul gave us a typical road map to total surrender to God – opening up completely to God without withholding anything from him. You must lay yourself down at the altar of God for God to transform you. God demands a deeper relationship with you and not lip service relationship.
In complete obedience to the will of God for your life, submit to God all you are and have. Say, Jesus take the wheel; I am tired of stirring my life in deceit – ‘what shall it profit the world and loose His soul in eternal damnation.
SEEK GOD WHILE YOU CAN FIND HIM
Prayer point: Lord Jesus, I want to know you more, come into my life and show me what I must do to be yours forever. Amen
