Main text: Romans 1:16 (KJV) – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jews first and also to the Greek.
1 Peter 4:16 (KJV) – Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glory God on this behalf.
It is only natural to value what we identify with and proudly show the people around us. The gift of eternal hope through Christ is very previous. Not being ashamed to be identified with Christ is one of the attributes of a true Christian – the fruit a person portrays, identification is easy. When you recognise the personality of Christ and have Him living in you, you will boldly acknowledge Him wherever you go (3 John 1:4)Christ spoke to His disciples that whoever denies Him, He will deny also before His father therefore, Christ was trying to explain to them that He values relationship.
When we profess Christ and He lives in us, it is a relationship with the Trinity (God). God wants to dine and commune with us. Friendship with Christ has lots of benefits accrued. The love of God and the things of God push us to do extraordinary things for the sake of the gospel of Christ. We allow ourselves to be use by God that through us many shall be saved.
This same love was evident in the lives of the disciples that most of them laid down their lives for the sake of the kingdom of God. Example of such was Stephen (Acts 7:55-60).Many Christians have denied their faith in God for the sake of material acquisitions like money, position and affluence. I urge you today not to count in the statistics of Christians that deny Christ when the need arises.
Remember, your soul is priceless and therefore, should be guarded jealously. Identify with Christ by embarking of evangelism, associating with the light (fellow Christians) and using your social media account to tell people about Jesus Christ.
