Main Text: Esther 4:16 – Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
1 Timothy 2:1 – I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
From our main text, we saw how people Esther and her people interceded for the whole of the jews in the land. They stood in the gap through, fasting and prayers and God heard them and averted the wicked plot of Haman and his cohorts, to annihilate all the jews. His wickedness returned upon his own head through Esther’s intercession.
The prayer of intercession is asking the will of God to be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Prayer of intercession is a powerful means of communicating with God. God is a spirit and those who worship Him, must do so in spirit and truth. For your family to have a tremendous turn around, you must intercede for them. God’s word admonishes us to pray always and not faint. We still see our Lord Jesus Christ praying specifically for those he had trained.
If the leaders still need prayers, then our families need more prayers. To what extent do you intercede for your family?Intercessory prayers should involve the spirit, soul and body. It will enable you to bear a serious burden of your family and present them to God. Your body must pay a price whenever you engage in this kind of prayer. At Gethsemane, the Lord’s body emitted sweat as thick as blood when he engaged in this kind of prayer.
