SACRIFICE IS PROFITABLE 1
Main text: proverb 14:23- And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Proverbs 14:23- In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty.
Sacrifice simply means to take an offering of; to consecrate or present to a divinity by way of expiation or propitiation as a Thanksgiving to immolate on the altar of God, in order to atone for sin, procure favour, or to express thankfulness.
It can also be the art of giving up something that you want to keep, especially in order to get or do something else or to help someone. The goals and objectives you have in mind will not magically manifest in your life. If you’re not willing to make the necessary sacrifices to attain your goals and objectives, then you will fail to create the momentum you need to get your derived outcome.
Sacrifice is usually painful. It is not palatable. It takes unusual faith and courage to make a sacrifice. Sacrifice is not the same things as offering. Whatever you give that does not cost you something is not sacrifice. It is just an offering. To sacrifice means to make a conscious effort in giving out what you treasure perhaps in obedience to God or in showing how much you love God.
A lot of people have sacrificed their passion, profession and career to work in God’s vineyard. They may have risen high in their workplace and due for promotion but decides to abandon their work at its peak to answer God’s call to start from the crash. Everyone does not have a heart of sacrifice. The heart you have for God determines the height God will take you. Sacrifice pays.
