APPLY YOUR HEART TO WISDOM
Main text: Psalm 90:12 (NIV) – Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our heart to wisdom.
Proverbs 24:14 (AMP) – Know that (skillful and godly) wisdom is (so very good) for your life and soul; if you find wisdom, then there will be a future and a reward, and your expectation will not be cut off.
Wisdom is not intelligence, understanding or knowledge. It is the ability to use your intelligence, understanding and knowledge to get productive and beneficial reward or result. Life they say is full of opportunities but how we use or what we do with these opportunities matters a lot.
Our scriptures reading today made us to understand that there is a need for man to number his days so he can apply his heart to wisdom. The bible according to this passage does not literally means we count our years but the Lord is telling us that our years on earth are not forever. There is a need to fulfill mandate and this cannot be done without applying our hearts to wisdom.
Applying your heart to wisdom is basically following right principles and guidelines that make you stand out. The ultimate wisdom is found in Christ. Accepting Christ as your Lord and personal savoir and living on earth as citizen of heaven is apply your heart to wisdom.
Aligning your heart to seeking the kingdom of God is the only way to live a happy and fulfilling life. Wisdom guards and makes the path of a man smooth. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 that we are the salt of the world. It is only a man that applies his heart to wisdom by yielding to instructions that is a salt to his world. This means that it is when you walk in the path of wisdom that you are relevant in life.
Always strive to keep applying your heart to wisdom by keeping constant fellowship with God. Create time to pray to Him and read His word. When you commit your ways to Him always, He would direct your path and He can only lead you to your full reward of obedience.
WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING
Prayer: Teach me Lord to trust you daily. Help me to apply my heart to every of your instruction that I might live a fulfilled life.
