THE ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PRESENCE
Main text: Isaiah 43. 1 – 2 – But now, thus saith the Lord that created the, O Jacob and he that formed thee, O Israel fear not for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name: thou art mine. When thou pass through the rivers, The shall not overflow thee, when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned neither shall the flame kindle upon thee –
Matthew 28: 20b – … lo, I am with you always even onto the end of the world.
God’s presence does not fluctuate that is, comes and goes. The whole emphasis in the Bible is on his unfailing presence. Even God’s name is given as Yahweh and Shammah which means, ‘The Lord is there’ (Ezekiel 48: 35). God is with us as he has always been and will always be.
The scripture gives us many explicit assurances of the divine presence of God. He will never leave us alone. Yea, though I walk through the Valley of shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me (Psalms 23: 4).
The Lord will not for sake his people for his great names sake because it has pleased the Lord to make you his people. Children of God, do you know you’re a special, given the opportunity for an intimate and personal relationship with the creator and the Lord of the heavens and the earth. By the help of the Holy Spirit, we have relationship with the father and his son Jesus Christ through communion.
Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am (Matthew 18: 20). This passage of the Bible goes to tell us that whenever we gather in the name of the Lord irrespective of location, God is present. The presence of God can be likened to the sun which gives light and there is no escape from it.
GOD HAS NOT COVENANTED TO BE WITH US SOMETIMES BUT ALWAYS.
