THE POWER OF SACRIFICE

THE POWER OF SACRIFICE

Main Text: Romans 5:8 – “But God commanded his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Hebrews 13:16 – But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ in Calvary brought salvation unto mankind John 3:16. Sacrifice is as old as mankind and is offered to a higher power. The heathens perform sacrifices to their idol and fetish gods. These kinds of sacrifices are condemned and unacceptable because the gods they worship are not real or powerful in the actual sense but are satanic deception.

For instance, the prophets of Baal were disappointed and proved false when they competed with the God of Prophet Elijah who answered and consumed the sacrifice of Elijah; 1 Kings 18:38. King Solomon in 1 Kings 3:4-5 offered so much sacrifice to God that God was moved to ask him to name what he would want to be done to him.

The wise king Solomon demanded wisdom to enable him lead God’s people.
Sacrifice to God defers with individual. Prophetess Anna became a widow after seven years of married life. She submitted her body a living sacrifice to serve God. God promised her that she would physically see Jesus Christ on earth before her death. She was eighty-four years old when she saw Jesus brought into the temple for dedication. Luke 2:36-37.

Brethren, what do you sacrifice to move God’s heart to bless you? God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

SACRIFICE TO GOD GIVES US ADVANTAGE POSITION OVER EVERY SATANIC PLOTS

Prayer: In Jesus’ name, I rededicate my life and everything within me to God again. Amen
