SAINTS HAVE A LANGUAGE

SAINTS HAVE A LANGUAGE

Main text: 1 Peter 4:11a –If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speak the very words of God.

Ephesians 4:29 – Let nocorrupt word proceed out of your mouth but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Saints are the citizens of heavenly country – The Kingdom of God. Every nation has her language acceptable and approved by the authorities that govern them. The Kingdom of God has a constitution which is the Bible and God remains the everlasting Supreme ruler. There is the language of the saints and it distinguishes us from the rest of the others.

The language of the Saints is the word of God – Peter admonished us to speak the very words of God. The word of God in the lips of the Christian is an identity of our citizenship. This does not mean to always quote the scriptures but in Ephesians 4:29 it says, ‘Let no corrupt word proceed from your mouth’. Now, that’s a caution. Our words should give life, hope, peace and joy to hearers.

In the spiritual life, there is no dual citizenship – one cannot be a citizen of God’s kingdom and still be of satan’s kingdom. We cannot be perpetual liars and confess the truth that is, the word of God. Some people now consider lying as a tool to work over an issue freely. How do we react when we are hurt? What do you speak in those angry moments?

YOUR LANGUAGE DEFINES YOUR ETERNAL PLACE OF REST.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I need your help. Let me always speak how Christspeaks and what Christ speaks.
