HOW IS YOUR REPORT CARD?

Main Text: Proverbs 20:11 – “Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right”.

Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven”.

A story was told of a clergy man, who was walking to church one night when a thief pulled a gun on him and demanded his money or his life. When he reached in his pocket to hand over his wallet, the robber saw his clerical collar and said “I see you are a priest, never mind, you can go”. The clergy man, surprised by the robber’s unexpected act of piety offered him a candy can. The robber said, “No thank you, I don’t eat candy during lent”. The robber has given up candy as a supposed sacrifice for lent, what a confused report card!

As we live on earth, so our report card is being written in heaven. Appearance and words can be deceptive; behaviour is the best judge of character which determines how your report card is being written. As followers of Jesus, we demonstrate our love for Him by what we do.

We are reminded today that for the living, your personal report is being written above, same will be summarized on that day you breathe your last. The bible says after death comes judgment.

CONDUCT IS THE BEST PROOF OF CHARACTER

Prayer: May my report card earn me a place with my Lord in Jesus Name
